The basic characteristics of modified polystyrene plastic materials

Modified polystyrene is also known as high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), also known as "non-breaking glue". Its main properties and uses can be understood from the following points:

      1. Its main purposes are as follows:

     Mainly used for daily necessities, electrical parts, casings, toys, various instrument casings, and skeletons.

     2. Its main performance is as follows

     1. Commonly used inner mold material 718

     2. Color: opaque milky white or slightly yellow.

     3. The molding shrinkage rate is about 0.2%-0.8% (usually 0.5%)

     4. Add an appropriate amount (5-20%) of butadiene rubber to GPPS to modify, thereby improving the impact resistance of hard rubber

     5. HIPS and GPPS can be mixed with beer plastics according to needs. The more GPPS components, the better the surface gloss of the product and the better the fluidity. For example, the composition ratio HIPS:GPPS=7:3 or 8:2 can maintain sufficient and good apparent quality.

     6. Other main properties are the same as GPPS.
