Introduction to the main properties of cellulose acetate (CA)

Cellulose acetate is usually called "acid glue", which is a non-crystalline plastic. Its main properties are as follows:

     1. Cellulose acetate has good water absorption properties and needs to be preheated and dried.

     2. The molding shrinkage rate of cellulose acetate is small (0.2-0.7%), which is usually 0.5%, which is easy to decompose. When it is decomposed, it is corrosive to equipment and molds and causes rust. The mold should be chrome-plated, and there must be no dead corners.

     3. The fluidity of cellulose acetate is slightly worse than that of polystyrene, and it is sensitive to temperature changes.

     4. Cellulose acetate is mainly used for household utensils, tool handles, stationery, containers, spectacle frames, ornaments and other items.
